NS 9415:2021 and aquaculture mooring components
NS 9415:2021 addresses materials, component interaction, loads, capacity, anchoring, user manuals, inspection and maintenance. Component properties and intended use therefore need clear documentation.
Interaction in the mooring system
The shackle, Pearlink, thimble and synthetic mooring rope form one load path. Geometry and capacity must be compatible to provide controlled load transfer and rope protection.
Capacity and MBL
Minimum Breaking Load (MBL) is the documented minimum breaking load, not a working load. Selection must be based on the mooring analysis, design loads and adjacent components.
Documentation and traceability
Product markings, batch references, product and material certificates, test results and inspection history connect each component to its production documentation.
