How to select a Pearlink and polyurethane tube thimble
The Pearlink and tube thimble form an integrated connection between the shackle and synthetic mooring rope. Selection depends on rope size, thimble geometry, Pearlink size and the mooring analysis.
Start with the mooring rope
Rope diameter and construction determine the tube thimble required for support and gentle rope guidance. AQUALINK thimbles cover 6 to 12 inches and rope sizes from 48 to 120 mm.
Verify Pearlink capacity
AQUALINK Pearlinks are available in 22, 25, 28, 32, 35, 38 and 50 mm, with documented MBL from 45 to 210 tonnes. MBL must be considered across the complete load path.
Verify physical compatibility
Openings, radii and contact surfaces must allow movement without unwanted point loading. Confirm the final choice against dimensions, the mooring analysis and current documentation.
